Graythwaite Estate Stage 1

We are proud to announce that the Graythwaite Estate Stage 1 Project as been awarded TWO Excellence in Construction Awards in 2014

2014 National Master Builders Excellence in Construction Award for “National Commercial Historical Restoration/Renovation Award”…  and

2014 NSW Master Builders Excellence in Construction Award for “Restoration of an Historic Building”.

The Stage 1 scope of works on the Graythwaite site comprises the conservation, refurbishment and adaptation of the three historic buildings on the site for school uses.

Graythwaite House, the Tom O’Neill Centre and the Coach House

Graythwaite House is a place of state significance and is included in the NSW State Heritage Register.

The Stage 1 Works of the redevelopment of the Graythwaite site comprises the following:

  • Conservation and refurbishment of Graythwaite House
  • Conservation and refurbishment of the Coach House
  • Conservation and refurbishment of the Tom O’Neill Centre
  • Drainage and stormwater works, site levelling and landscaping (significantly on the middle and lower terraces)
  • Landscaping enhancement works including Civil works, resurfaced driveway, new plantings, pathways and garden structures
  • New Union Street gate and Palisade fence with sandstone retaining walls
  • New Edward Street and Senior School gates and fences
