The completed works at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church involved several key upgrades aimed at improving accessibility, safety, and the overall structural integrity of the premises. The following tasks were successfully completed:
- Lowering of Church Auditorium Flooring: The existing floor, previously used as a stage, was lowered to ensure DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) compliance, improving access for all visitors.
- External Fire Egress Stair and Awning: A new external fire egress stair and awning were installed, enhancing the safety and emergency evacuation capabilities of the church building.
- Replacement of Dilapidated Windows: The outdated and deteriorated windows were replaced with new aluminium-framed windows, designed to match the existing aesthetic of the church, ensuring both functionality and visual continuity.
- Lower Ground Level Door Access: A new DDA-compliant door was installed on the lower ground level, with a set of aluminium windows replacing the existing dilapidated timber windows to improve both appearance and accessibility.
- Minor External Works were undertaken including anew DDA-compliant footpath was constructed, ensuring safe and easy access to the church for individuals with mobility challenges, and a new child-safe fence was installed to enhance safety around the church grounds.
