The project involved the demolition of the existing marina and the construction of a new marina off the existing slab, built on an extremely tight and restrictive site. The design of the marina is inspired by a yacht and consists of porthole windows, a concrete “bow”, curved façades, and Galley.
The marina building is constructed with new concrete Dincel walls with a suspended concrete roof structure with curved concrete soffits along with:
- New curved glazing and bifold doors to the front façade
- New glazed porthole windows
- Switchglass privacy portholes
- Mondoclad awnings
- Retractable Markilux awning
- Office area for marina operations
- Cold Room for the storage of materials and garbage
- Accessible bathroom
- Accessible ramps & stainless steel handrails
- Access control upgrades
- Frameless glass entry doors
- Tiled external walkways and fencing
- Excavation & replacement of existing in ground services including shoring of adjacent properties
The project was completed in close proximity to neighbouring properties and a busy public beach, and was completed without any complaints, issues or incidents from the public or the neighbours.
