Kirkbride Chimney Restoration

Kirkbride Chimney Restoration

The Kirkbride Heritage Chimney Stack Remediation project involved restoring a 30+ metre chimney from a free standing scaffold that enclosed the entire structure.

All the mortar joints were raked out and repointed in accordance with the heritage consultant requirements.

All 24 metal rings on the chimney were taken sequentially to avoid any structural issues with the chimney, galvanised and then re installed.

The chimney cap was dismantled and re built including a new corbel, lead weather around the corbel, and a copper cap to close the chimney off with a copper lighting protection rod.

Watch the chimney reveal as the scaffold is dismantled from this amazing structure.
