Middle Head Officer’s Quarters

External and internal refurbishment to a Heritage Cottage owned by National Parks, to be used for holiday letting. Works included:

  • upgrade of electrical and hydraulic services, and installation of new mechanical services
  • removal of asbestos linings,
  • new kitchen and bathrooms,
  • restoration and replacement of external timber work to match original,replace termite damaged flooring with new hardwood flooring to match original heritage timber species and sizing,
  • restoration of heritage door and window hardware,
  • new ceiling linings to match original,
  • repairs to original lathe and plaster internal walls
  • sanding and sealing of heritage tongue and groove flooring
  • new Tallowood decking to front and rear house verandahs,
  • exposed aggregate driveways and the restoration of the hardwood picket fencing and gates
  • external landscaping

The project was carried out in a live environment within an extremely busy park precinct.
