National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA)

Since December 2004, Carfax has delivered the annual capital works programme for the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA). Carfax has successfully delivered many projects for NIDA since being appointed and all projects have been undertaken whilst the facility has been in operation.

With the countless challenges associated with access, noise and materials handling in an operating environment, Carfax has successfully deployed its experienced team and planning expertise so as not to cause disruption to the facility’s day to day operations, whilst maintaining the highest levels of WH&S.

Carfax is proud to say that due to our understanding and flexibility when working with our client, we continue to be given opportunities at NIDA.

Works completed to date have included:

Creating new performance spaces and teaching rooms within the facility
Upgrade of mechancical services to rehearsal rooms
Upgrade reception areas and events kitchen
BCA Upgrade of all NIDA theatres, including fire, mechanical and electrical services
New production mezzanine
Upgrade of NIDA Studio
Office fitouts, including meeting rooms
BCA upgrade incorporating re-roofing
Refurbishment of costume department
Alexandria premises fitout
Signage for NIDA
Alexandria premises costume storage
Storage facilities at Kensington
New sprung floors to rehearsal room
Sound proof rehearsal rooms and voice coaching rooms
Construction of roof bridges and walkways
