Playfair St & Argyle Terrace Courtyard

The Playfair and Argyle Terrace Courtyard Project was initiated with the goal of restoring and enhancing a heritage-listed property in the Rocks, preserving its historic character while upgrading its structural integrity, functionality and public interface.

The works included façade restoration with sandstone repointing, sash window repairs and glass replacement, the installation of copper gutters, rainwater heads and downpipes, external repainting, balcony upgrades, roof stabilisation and chimney works.

Internally, the project involved structural stabilisation of floors and ceilings, desalination of walls, installation of new services, waterproofing and tiling amenities, internal rendering and painting and timber floor sanding and sealing.

The adjoining Argyle Terrace Courtyard was upgraded through demolition of existing paving and structures, installation of new footings, a new brick retaining wall, in-ground services, waterproofing, stone kerbing, paving, drainage improvements and the construction of a new steel awning with copper roofing and soffit lining.
