North Sydney Council
The project included external repairs and structural repairs to both buildings, including brick pointing, repair to damaged timber windows, repair clerestory, roofs, and the internal restoration and fit-out for the SES Headquarters and the Community Hall. New services, inclusive of external civil works and infrastructure were installed throughout the site.
Care had to be taken with all excavations as there is significant Aboriginal rock carvings within this precinct. All excavations for footings, drainage works and services needed to be hand-excavated and regular inspections were undertaken of the exposed sandstone by relevant consultants to ensure there was no damage or obstruction to any Aboriginal rock carvings.
