Wentworth Common
The concept behind the Wentworth Common Adventure Playground was to provide a nature based play experience for children of all ages.
The main components of the works involved a series of custom made timber ‘boxes’ which were constructed from 100% Certified Australian hardwoods, as well as a series of ponds, which had to meet strict design requirements. This was due to the fragile natural habitat of the Green and Gold Bell frog, in which the works were based.
Carfax won the 2008 MBA Excellence in Construction Award for Best Use of External Timber, and the MBA Excellence in Construction Award for Environmental Management Open Category for this project.
