A staged internal strip out and full refurbishment including furnishings of the amenities, reclines, offices, control and lecture rooms at the fire station. Services were extensively replaced and the heritage building was upgraded to suit fire engineering requirements whilst the station was in operation at a reduced capacity. Other upgrades included Air Handler and Hot Water Unit replacement on the roof of the building, fast action engine bay doors, new structural steel pedestrian bridge, Main Switch Board upgrades, remedial roof repairs and extensive passive fire upgrades.
The Fire Station was operational, albeit in a lower capacity than normally, throughout the duration of the project.
