St Eugene College, Canteen & Mazenod Amenities Refurbishment

The St Eugene College Amenities Refurbishment project was a combination of separate projects for upgrades to two different amenities blocks on the St Eugene College campus – the Canteen amenities and Mazenod Building amenities. These two amenities’ blocks are centrally located within the school and are used extensively by students of all year levels.

The project provided much-needed upgrades of fixtures, equipment and facilities for students and provides a fresh modern look to the old toilets, which were enclosed by foreboding brick and block surrounds. The refurbished amenities now provide a fresh and modern look, and a feel of open space and natural light.

Further to this, the new look facilities will allow for better safety and security of students and school property. The new design will also allow for more efficient cleaning and maintenance by the school staff.

The refurbishment project was a true reflection of the positive outcomes that can be achieved when a collaborative working relationship is formed between Contractor, Architect and Client. Although there were several hurdles required to be overcome from existing building elements and site conditions, the teamwork and cooperation from all parties ensured rapid solutions and favorable outcomes to any issues arising.

The project was managed to ensure the work was completed on time and under-budget, whilst the college remained fully operational, with the handover of the amenities to the school two weeks ahead of schedule.
